Peach Velvet, Summer 2021

With Others Never Forgotten

I don’t want to take the stars for granted.

Someone please come remind me of them.

Remind me of what is beyond myself and my understanding.

Someone please ask me again, Have you seen the moon tonight?

Look at that Milky Way! I say to myself.

I need someone to identify the constellations

Orion   Cassiopeia   Big Dipper  The Pleiades

Those are the moments with others never forgotten,

so easily erased from memory when

we are caught alone with ourselves.

We forget we are not alone. Just look up.

I need someone to remind me.

Remind me I’m here.

Why I’m here.

To look up.

Embrace each other

In why we’re here.

Together.
